Does every telecom company ready for Etom?

Filed under: Telecom — admin @ 5:07 pm

Etom or Enhanced Telecommunication Operation Map is set of business process for Telecommunication Company. Etom is not the only business process mapping for telco company, since IBM also has the standard and some of consulting company also has the framework from business perspective or from financial risk perspective.

Implementing a high level framework that covers all of the telco business process is really helpful. The management could see the integration of every business process supporting the business. This integration also would simpler the management task to comply for every compliances from audit, IT or even HR and business compliances.

However, does every telecom company ready for this framework? Since, even the Etom created using best practices in every type of operation in telco business. But it’s still need a lot of modification to be able to be used effectively by the company. This modification usually takes a very long time since management need to align every part of business to this framework. And it’s a really time consuming task.
