From the online perspective which one is better?

I am reader of The Jakarta Post -online to improve my bad english. This english written newspaper is one of the best english online newspaper covering Indonesian News i guess. And i am looking for another alternative reading, especially about Indonesia. Do you have any suggestions?

My simple rule to be creative:

1. Never give up
Let say you want to work with design and after spend about several hours but you still dont have any ideas what should you do. Then the rule number one: never give up, patience will pay

2. Creativity comes from detail
Creative idea sometimes would come from a very simple process, a detail one that you never tought before

3. Early morning is the best time to be creative
Spending 1-2 hours at the early morning would be a very effective time. Early in the morning between 3-5AM is by best productivity time (more…)

Some of example, in Cirebon -city where i was born, people usually call Bridges by “Brug” which surprisingly taken from Dutch words.

Recently i made some minor change to my primary blog written in Bahasa Indonesia. Some of the changes related to the layout, it is still garland however i make it more simple, some of categories are deleted, i think now it is time for me to write more focus with my experience and expertise.

Another issue is about posting frequency, i try to write at least once a week. Well let see.

Since 1 February 2009, i am starting a new career at PT Rabobank International Indonesia (RII) as Senior IT Auditor. RII is another after merger bank in Indonesia, RII acquire Bank Haga and Hagakita. This year i have several plan about career and of course my life. So wish me luck passing this transition period.

Back from Sangatta, East Kalimantan for a week site visit to the largest coal open pit mining in the world, I feel that a lot of lesson that I learned from this company. Here are several lessons that I got

1. Always focus
The coal company has a very large mining concession with the government, so big that maybe it takes more than 40 years to dig the coal deposit from one pit -ok just imagine that each year this company produces more than 40 million cubic of coal -just like I said before, it is the largest in the world.

The mining strategy is to dig the coal with the maximum reachable technology and mechanism -as fast as possible and only stop when the deposit already empty. Yes perhaps you can say it is greed. However miner never thinks like that, since they responsible to renovate or rehabilitate the pit after mining processing over.

2. Always improve
When you have your own mine site, maybe your concern is just as simple as dig fast and move fast -most of the mine concession is limited by time and location. Mining mechanism especially coal is very simple, by using excavator, dump truck (Liebher T282, Euclid Hitachi, Caterpillar 797 or just Komatsu) and complex conveyor control. And sometimes you will loose your time for improvement.

So what do I learn is, even with the very limited time, budget or everything you should spend some money or invest some thing for your development. (more…)

Ok, it is after one and half year, and today is the first day i back travelling in my office. My destination is to Sangatta, East Kalimantan. Actually, as the auditor most of my job is outside the office, however since i already married, already have a daughter, then i choose most of downtown engagement in Jakarta. Maybe this is the last travel at EY. See what next, a journey will be begin.

I have a wordpress blog here, written in bahasa Indonesia, not bad, PR4 around 5000 unique visitor daily, focusing for fresh graduate and twenty or early thirty readers, most of discussing about career, family and financial matter. This blog quite popular for some reason such as salary standard or recruitment gossip. However since i have another blog right here, then sometimes i come in a situation whether i confuse where i should post this article, in the first mature blog or in this growing blog.

Actually this blog is talk a lot of backoffice thing of my blog, so you can see that i write technical post on drupal, -i really love this cms, talk about my prediction in internet market or even talk about writing itself and my motivation to manage and develop a lot of website.

However after several week trying to focus on small area that somehow i did not have a good knowledge at it. Yes, i weak at programming, design and developing thing. Then again i become lost my motivation in this way. Any suggestion for this?

Sick, just like usual. I absent from the office this Monday. It have been three days since Saturday. The doctor give me Antibiotics just like usual, an expensive one -around Rp 326.000,-. Something wrong with my body, routine fever. Thanks God I’m still alive.
