I am huge Digg Fan –self claimed of course- I could visit digg.com more than three times a day. Early in the morning, very morning before my wife and daughter wake up, at lunch break –while enjoying my lunch box that prepared by my lovely wife and the third time it’s late night, after working a day. Digg is the best social networking that able to see what is hot news and content on internet right now.

As a digger I also submit some of interesting site, but only get 3,2, or even just 1 digg from other digger. At that time I was never care about this, until I heard this statement
“Seomoz.org has been reported that the top 100 Digg users posted 56% of Digg frontpage“

So what’s wrong with this? What’s wrong with Digg power user, big names such as mrbabyman? Well nothing, it just a 18.491 digg in one day, or 9054 digg also in one day.

Google updated their Page Rank system again on 31 December 2008. Lucky for me, some of my website is getting better PR this time, priandoyo.com PR3, priandoyo.wp PR5. Quite surprise since I guess several factor that influencing PR calculation such as backlink, reported paid link –the one that will decrease PR is not so influencing this PR update.

I think Google is getting smart and smarter and we the publisher should have no worried as long we create a good content then one day Google will recognize. So what is your opinion with latest Google Page Rank update. However below some of my tips to getting better Page Rank

Install Google Toolbar at your browser, this is the most valid method. I did not recommend visiting third party website, since it using a database and somehow provide not so update information

Satu lagi yang sedang riuh ramai dibicarakan diblogosphere, kasus ‘penipuan’ oleh Kapanlagi.com. Ceritanya si Kapanlagi.com membuka kontes banner berhadiah 50 juta. Syaratnya blogger harus memasang banner Kapanlagi.com, namun hingga pada tanggal pengumuman yang direncanakan yaitu 20 Desember, rupanya Kapanlagi tidak mengumumkan siapa pemenang kontes ini. Dus, ribut-ributlah orang-orang, Kapanlagi.com dinilai dengan tidak sehat memanfaatkan para blogger untuk kepentingan pribadinya. Simak juga surat terbukanya

Saya sendiri tidak mengikuti kontes Kapanlagi.com namun sedikit banyak bisa memahami kekecewaan yang dirasakan para peserta kontes tersebut. Dan sedikit banyak juga bisa merasakan seandainya berada dalam posisi Kapanlagi.com. Pihak Kapanlagi mungkin saja melihat kontes ini tidak seperti yang diharapkan, atau bisa jadi ada masalah internal dengan keuangan perusahaan.

Pernahkah ada kasus seperti ini?
Pernah dan saya yakin banyak sekali, saya sendiri pernah dikecewakan dalam sebuah lomba yang diadakan oleh XL dan DagDigDug.com/ dimana lomba tersebut dinyatakan batal oleh panitia secara sepihak, karena jumlah peserta dianggap terlalu sedikit. Kesal pastinya

Lalu akhirnya bagaimana?
Prediksi saya, sebagaimana kasus lomba-lomba ngeblog/internet lainnya. Panitia akan mengumumkan pemenang lomba dengan nominal yang lebih kecil, tidak mungkin 50 juta, mungkin hanya 5 juta saja. Atau mungkin panitia bisa saja membatalkan lomba tersebut dengan berbagai alasan.

Ya sudahlah, buat saya lomba-lomba di internet itu tidak lebih seperti kuis. Lebih banyak untung-untungannya dan sudah telanjur banyak dikecewakan pula.

If you’re newbie -just like me- in the internet/online business then I believe the first thing you do in this jungle is seek for role model. Yup I actually did the same thing. My first role model is Amir Karimuddin, he is friend of mine in the office, same cubicle, same chair, so I really know day by day what he is doing and how he manage his strategy in online

Amir, in some of discussion suggest me to read some of professional local blogger such as Cosa, Pogung, Dexno (really thanks for add me into your blogroll) to get some insight how to survive in this jungle. Agree, currently I subscribe their RSS, not only them but some of so called internet guru in Indonesia.

However, the problem with Cosa or Pogung is simple: I personally did not know about them. So I could not predict how long they would spend their time in front of internet. I did not know when they’re starts this business, first time learn about internet and so on. Well actually I am still hoping one day I could personally become their friends -but I did not when, since I believe they are very busy person.

Then I found Kang Kombor, he is my senior in high school and I have met him several time -he is ever come to my house in Bintaro -I planned to go to his house but always unable to set the schedule, sorry kang for this. Kang Kombor is simply a good role model for me in this business. I like the way he give update to his reader about some new thing in internet biz. And most important thing is I could directly ask or talk with him -even using mail/messenger

So some tips for you who still new in this business, well btw I also still newbie. You must find you role model. Not some of big names out there but start with the nearest possible successful player near you.

I have a wordpress blog here, written in bahasa Indonesia, not bad, PR4 around 5000 unique visitor daily, focusing for fresh graduate and twenty or early thirty readers, most of discussing about career, family and financial matter. This blog quite popular for some reason such as salary standard or recruitment gossip. However since i have another blog right here, then sometimes i come in a situation whether i confuse where i should post this article, in the first mature blog or in this growing blog.

Actually this blog is talk a lot of backoffice thing of my blog, so you can see that i write technical post on drupal, -i really love this cms, talk about my prediction in internet market or even talk about writing itself and my motivation to manage and develop a lot of website.

However after several week trying to focus on small area that somehow i did not have a good knowledge at it. Yes, i weak at programming, design and developing thing. Then again i become lost my motivation in this way. Any suggestion for this?

Sudah banyak orang yang menuliskan betapa internet adalah sebuah rimba gelap yang tidak jelas arah tujuan kita kemana. Artinya tanpa perencanaan yang baik bisa jadi yang kita lakukan hanyalah membuang-buang waktu saja. Mulai hari ini, saya mencoba untuk lebih berhati-hati lagi dalam memanfaatkan internet, antara lain yang saya lakukan:

1. Siapkan segala sesuatunya offline
Internet harus diposisikan sebagai alat produksi, ketika kita tidak siap untuk melakukan sesuatu e.g update posting, kirim email, yang terjadi adalah lompat-melompat topik yang tidak jelas juntrungannya kemana. Jangan pernah memikirkan ide tulisan atau sesuatu konsep di depan komputer yang terkoneksi internet. Pasti ide itu akan lenyap seiring semakin banyaknya konsep baru yang muncul didepan kepala itu.

2. Jangan pernah menunda waktu
Kita tidak pernah tahu apa sebenarnya kebutuhan orang dan kapan orang tersebut membutuhkannya. Jadi ide sebagus apapun bisa jadi tidak berguna jika terlambat untuk diposting. Mulai dari sesuatu sederhana yang bisa kita tuliskan, bentuk itu akan hadir dengan sendirinya. Untuk situs-situs kecil seperti skala blog saya. Menulis apapun seharusnya dijadikan rutinitas.

Sick, just like usual. I absent from the office this Monday. It have been three days since Saturday. The doctor give me Antibiotics just like usual, an expensive one -around Rp 326.000,-. Something wrong with my body, routine fever. Thanks God I’m still alive.

Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims (including Druze) worldwide in commemoration of the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God. The meat is then shared out with family, friends (Muslims or non-Muslims), as well as the poor members of the community.

Alhamdulilah, yesterday i got a chance to go to Cirebon, a chance to see my sister wedding, a chance to see idul qurban at mosque near my house. Everything seems very beautiful then.
